The Beatles: The Collection (1982)

The Mobile Fidelity series was targeted toward audiophiles and offered the best possible sound by using half-speed mastering and pressing on harder Japanese “super-vinyl.”

Although the original EMI masters were used for most of the albums, for Magical Mystery Tour they were not. Because EMI requested, used, and filed the fourth generation Capitol masters for the album for their 1976 release – from which the MFSL tapes were sourced – the MFSL release is of very poor quality.
