On September 3, 1964 during a flight from Indianapolis to Milwaukee, Paul swiped one of these anti-Beatles pin buttons from Beatles road manager Mal Evans. Evans had gotten it from flight engineer Robert Miller, who had worn it onto the plane as a joke. One of the American Flyers Airline public relations women had made Miller take it off.
