This Is The...The Savage Young Beatles (1965)

Extremely rare, early collection of songs performed with Tony Sheridan in Hamburg. The first edition was a very limited print run and featured an orange cover. It was reissued quickly with a yellow cover. The title incorrectly uses the word “the” twice in succession. The back cover is sympathetic to Pete Best and incorrectly mentions his singing on the record and the appearance of two instrumentals (there is only one, Cry For A Shadow). The note about two instrumentals was corrected in subsequent reissues.

This is one of the first collections of Hamburg recordings to be credited to The Beatles, although they were not yet called that at the time the recordings were made.

The cover was later adapted by Klaus Voorman for the Anthology 1 cover.
