An attempt by Capitol to release the biggest-selling album of all time, Beatles 1 features 27 singles which reached #1 in the UK's Record Retailer chart or the US's Billboard chart (or both). Each song is listed in the booklet with photos of several 45 sleeves from around the world and track info, such as which take number was issued and the date it was recorded. The album was launched simultaneously with the band's official website, www.thebeatles.com, which features even more info on each of the album's tracks, including interactive, virtual tours of the recording studio and never-before seen photos. The album is the first greatest hits package since 1982's 20 Greatest Hits and was aimed specifically at the younger, 'digital' generation in hopes of introducing the Beatles to an even larger audience.
