Don’t Let Me Down (Lennon/McCartney)
Formed from at least three unfinished songs (the “don’t let me down” chorus, the “nobody ever loved me like she does” section, and the “I’m in love for the first time” bit), Don’t Let Me Down was written in the same mindset as If I Fell – expressing the fears of being rejected by someone he placed all of his love and trust in. This time it was for Yoko, and her minimalist outlook in life influenced him to write a very simple but pleading love song.
