Another Beatles Story (1993)

A followup to the 3-disc CD box set The Beatles Story, Another Beatles Story was also issued in Japan at a time when Japanese copyright stated that non-Japanese recordings made before January 1, 1968 were public domain. Anyone could re-release non-Japanese recordings as long as royalties were paid to JASRAC, the collective management organization administering music copyrights. The discs were unauthorized but legal releases in Japan but made their way to the US and were sold by major retailers including Best Buy even though they were completely illegal in the US. Another Beatles Story was sourced from “dead mint” vinyl and high-end filtered to eliminate noise.
