Distinct in Beatles history because it was the first Beatles track to feature use of a volume petal on guitar, "I Need You" was written by George for Patti and used in 'A Hard Day's Night'. It was not even worthy of mention in George's 1980 autobiography 'I Me Mine'. Contrary to many books, the song was not written during the Bahama scenes of the film, as recorded was started before the scenes were shot.
